Pediatric Sleep Program

Getting a good night’s rest is an important part of children’s physical and mental health. However, many children suffer from disorders like obstructive sleep apnea. It disrupts their normal breathing during sleep and their sleeping patterns.

Some of the potential symptoms include:

  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Hyperactivity and inattention
  • Aggressive behavior
  • Poor school performance
  • Moodiness and depression
  • Mouth breathing
  • Congestion
  • Frequent respiratory illness
  • Nasal speech
  • Difficulty falling and staying asleep
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Snoring or trouble breathing during sleep

Sleep studies are pain free and can help determine whether medical or surgical treatments are right for your child. A new collaboration between Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and Doctors Community Hospital provides you with access to high-quality sleep studies and experienced care.

Working with Doctors Community Hospital, experienced pulmonary and sleep physicians from Johns Hopkins Children’s Center offer:

  • Consultations with pediatricians and sleep study evaluations
  • Parent-focused education videos available in both English and Spanish

Also, Doctors Community Hospital’s accredited Sleep Center has:

  • Ten family-friendly rooms with private bathrooms and accommodations for you to stay with your child
