Hospital’s Annual Golf Tournament to Raise Funds for Community Health and Wellness Programs

Lanham, Maryland – The Doctors Community Hospital Foundation will host its 23rd annual fundraising golf tournament on May 21, 2018.  To be held at Queenstown Harbor located at 310 Links Lane in Queenstown, MD, this event will raise funds to support community health and wellness programs  for residents of Prince George’s County and surrounding areas.  This year’s chairperson is William Steen, director of public relations and marketing at Carrollton Enterprises.

Last year, this event raised more than $215,000 with the support of local business leaders, corporate sponsors, community partners and hospital employees.  “The health care needs in our community continue to grow.  That’s why we are eager to exceed last year’s goals so we can help more people. It is a part of our DNA – we are driven to help area residents feel better, which means we have to do even better in regards to our fundraising activities,” said Robyn Webb-Williams, vice president of Doctors Community Hospital Foundation.

All funds raised during the golf tournament will support the hospital’s community, clinical and health education programs.  One such initiative is our Wellness on Wheels mobile health clinic. This healthcare resource travels throughout the area and has medical professionals who provide free screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes), medication education and primary care services.

“It is an honor to once again support such an important event, which enables uninsured and underinsured county residents to receive vital health screenings. Carrollton Enterprises believes in the great work of DCH.  This hospital truly represents its mission statement ‘passionately caring for your health’,” said Steen.
