Patient education is an integral part of the Joslin Diabetes Center’s programs. Educating yourself about diabetes, is about empowering yourself with the latest available information to help you manage the day-to-day care of your diabetes and to help you take charge of your own physical health and emotional well-being.
Free Diabetes Screenings and Education for Prince George’s County Residents Doctors Community Hospital’s Joslin Diabetes Center and the Prince George’s County Health Department have launched the On the Road Diabetes Program to raise awareness about the importance of diabetes screenings, management and prevention. This program offers free diabetes education and screenings at convenient Prince George’s County locations, including community centers, faith-based organizations, health clinics and other localities. During the two-hour sessions, people who have diabetes will learn how to make lifestyle changes that can minimize the associated health risks.
